Short Daytrip from Hua Hin to Chaam: Malai Farm (Petting zoo)

This is a recommendation for everybody who loves animals - most kids will love this petting zoo: It's just about 30 minutes trip from Hua Hin and you can spend about an hour at Malai Farm. It's not a traditional zoo but rather like a livestock farm. So you can get up close with the animals, except the crocodiles ;-)

Location of Malai Farm petting zoo in Hua Hin / Chaam

As you can see the petting zoo is just a short distance from Central Hua Hin and the route just follows along the main road so it's easy to reach.

Entrance Fee

At the time of recording there was no entrance fee so it's free but you can buy different food at stations throughout the zoo to feed and pet the animals.

Must-see pictures

Typical Huahin-style sign - as you can see this is more of a local spot than tourist destination - but don't worry everybody is super friendly and it is easy to get around.

The character of the livestock land is to provide hands-on experience with regular livestock rather than a spectacular experience.

There is food and beverages available on-site at reasonable prices.

The Sheep at Malai farm are really curious.

There are no spectacular species or too many different ones, yet all animals seem well feed and in good spirits.

Rabbits for petting.

You can take your pictures up-close with selected animals.

The whole area is beautiful Thai-style nature with lakes, surrounded by mountains and lush greens.

The bigs are waiting to be fed.

Spacious living areas are well maintained and clean.

Different bird species can be seen.

The giant turtles don't really mind what the humans do around them.

Careful: These crocs are not for petting.
